Finished the Medifast Plan
Hooray!!!!! I am no longer on the Medifast Diet (wipes a tear) now I am having mixed emotions of happiness and at the same time a little worried and scared etc… But I have a plan for the coming week and I will just take it one week at a time and stay diligent in eating the right foods, and doing my cardio exercise of walking/running.
It feels like I have came so far, but it seemed to go quickly. This blog was another contributing factor in my success and of course the friends I have met online along the way. Medifast will truly change your life in more ways than just weight loss. I have more confidence, not embarrassed to be in public, and even have the desire and not be as scared of flirting with the opposite sex. I highly recommend the Medifast Diet to anyone who is serious about their health and wanting to make a change.
I found a cool site that will create a heart healthy shopping list and is sponsored by the American Heart Association. You can create your own heart healthy shopping lists Here.
There is just a world of knowledge about living a healthy lifestyle on the Internet. The Internet is really a blessing to have and would be so lost now if I didn’t have it. It is where I get all of my entertainment from. Since I have started this blog and my new healthy lifestyle I have noticed that I hardly watch TV anymore, now this is a good thing in my opinion, I can get all the news, TV shows, Movies, you name it, right on the Internet.
Another thing that I have been doing is teaching myself web design, and will be taking a class at my local college. I am truly ready for a career change and doing web design would be a dream job for me. I would even be willing to take a pay cut to get started in that line of work…. we shall see what the future holds for me. As always I appreciate the time that you take to come and read what I have to say, here on my Medifast Diet Blog. Be safe everyone.
Last Regular Weigh In
Ok Guys this will be the last regularly Sunday weigh in, I will still let you know from time to time about how my weight is holding out after stopping the Medifast Diet Plan. I managed to knock off 4 more pounds to come in at 162 down from 250 for a grand total of 88 pounds lost on the Medifast Diet. I still have a couple of days of products which I will finish out, and then I will be on my own…. Kind of scary, But I know I have come to far to revert back to the way I was.
One of my friends at the bank is still being diligent and staying with the Medifast plan and has lost 35 pounds so far, but the other one fell off and never recovered. You have to have a strong will and really want to loose weight to stay on a diet. I had got to the point where enough was enough and I was not going to fail this time, and I didn’t. I had got my shopping list together and went to the grocery store. I managed to get all of the items I needed for the upcoming week, I think I will start doing menus for 2 weeks instead of one.
The grocery store trip was an adventure and I think I did pretty good, all of the items I got cost me $85, I know when I did my menus I only put up the dinner menus. For breakfast I will be having fresh fruit and maybe toast and juice, I like coffee also but will keep the coffee to a minimum. I enjoy hot green tea, I think I have acquired a taste for it, and enjoy the health benefits also. For lunch I will just have to bring something to work, but I haven’t actually figured out what yet. I’m sure some salads will do just fine with some chicken on them every once in a while.
Well thats it for today, all of this planning has worn me out. So I will chat again another time. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my Medifast Diet Blog.

Time to start making a menu up for the coming week. So I have been working on this and have come up with the following. Keeping in mind Beef and Pork are gone from my diet. I will only stick with seafood and chicken and of course fruits and vegetables.

* 1/4 cup fat free ranch dressing
* 1-1/2 teaspoons chopped garlic

2. While pasta is cooking chop the tomato into 1 inch chunks and place them in a small bowl. Sprinkle the tomato chunks with basil and pour oil over the tomato. Place tomatoes in the pot with pasta. Toss well and eat while warm.
Vegetable: small salad
I will post more of my coming weeks menu items when I come up with the next 4 days of dinners.
Three More Gone

I stepped onto the scales today and realized that not 1, not 2, but 3 more pounds have came off and I am now at 166, for a grand total of 84 pounds that has came off of my now almost trim body. I like to say trim because I remember from where I have came. I have about one week left of Medifast Diet products left to eat and then I will be on my own. It is a little scary, I mean lets face it, it has been my crutch, my life line if you will and has kept me on the straight and narrow.
And then again it is exciting to finally be on my own and up to me to make the decisions about what I put into my body. The Medifast Diet not only changes your weight, but it also changes your mentality as to what to eat. It’s funny when you hear people say: “Oh that Diet doesn’t work”, when I am living proof that it does, and I expect that most organized diets do work, but the key is you have to work them. If you do not stick with it, of course it’s not going to work, but if you follow the plan just as it was developed, you will succeed!
Work today was ho hum, I really wish that I could get into a new line of work, I enjoy the computer and doing design, so maybe I could look for some type of work involving that. I have been studying web page design on the side for the past few months and really enjoy it. Hmmm who knows, maybe that would be an option. I know it is important to do a job that you enjoy doing, and I cannot say I enjoy working at a bank, but having said that, it does pay the bills.
For my lean and green meal today I had a chicken breast baked in the oven wrapped in aluminum foil with a few seasonings on it, and some steamed green beans, fresh of course. I also had a very small salad with some low fat dressing. I am really gearing up for the end of my diet, and need to go on a big shopping expedition to buy groceries for the new meals I will be eating. I think the best idea is to plan weekly menus and then shop accordingly.
Well that is all for tonight, I will leave you with a link to keep you busy in the mean time, which is Dominique.
Thoughts on Diet Change
I am having an internal debate whether to go cold turkey vegetarian or slowly slip into it. My gut tells me to slowly ease into it, but my ego says go for it. I think the wise choice will to be to ease into it. At this moment I am still eating my lean and green meals as I have always done. I am leaning towards keeping seafood into my diet and cutting out beef and pork first and maybe also staying with chicken.
In my studies on the Internet about going vegetarian the method of easing into it seems to be a common theme with newbies like myself. So maybe I will keep chicken and fish for a bit and forego beef and pork, then later get rid of chicken and then the seafood last. I think this would probably be a good plan, but of course those of you with experience, I would love to hear your opinions.
I hear a good book to get started with is “Diet For A New America” by John Robbins, I think that I will order it tomorrow from Amazon.com. When I have mentioned this diet change at the bank to my co-workers I get the typical responses: “Oh my God I couldn’t just eat salad all the time” or “Don’t you think that would be so dull to eat only carrots and salad”. But there are many great recipes that are vegetarian.
It is a lot easier to be vegetarian in this time than say 20 years ago. There are tons of meatless products in the grocery store that are really good, I know because I have tried some of them. There is a company called “Morningstar Farms” that makes a product called crumbles that looks just like hamburger meat. I tried this before with taco seasoning and made tacos with it, and the honest truth I could not tell the difference. They have many other products that make the transition into going vegetarian easier.
I will keep you updated on my journey as the days go by, I have only a week and a half left to go before I transition off of the Medifast Diet. So until next time I appreciate you reading my Medifast Diet Blog…. And here is a site to keep you busy in the mean time. Weird Statues !
Sunday’s Results
Stepped onto the scales this morning in all my glory and the results were 169. Down 2 more pounds since last weigh in. I have decided that once my Medifast products run out this time I will not make a new order. I feel that I will be close enough to my ideal weight and will just go on a vegetarian diet to take care of the rest.
If you think about how far I have come, it simply blows my mind, I mean starting off at 250 pounds all the way down to 169 is just unbelievable. All along my goal was to loose from 75-100 pounds, and to this date I have lost 81 pounds. So met my goal, I have done just that, and I am sure with the remaining products that I have there will be more coming off.
I think I have about a couple weeks more Medifast products left so that should bring me down anywhere from another 6-8 pounds, which will put me between 163-161. I am going to take the blog in a slightly new direction with the subject of being vegetarian and living a healthy lifestyle. Not too far away from my original subject.
I hope my journey will inspire and help others on their path to a healthier lifestyle, and future posts on maintaining that lifestyle. It has truly been one heck of a journey to say the least.
And for a cool site of the day I will leave you with this one Interactive Blobs.
Checking In!

Thought this would put a smile on your face!
Just checking in and letting you know that I am doing great, and everything is well on my end. I some information on five things that you can do each morning to give yourself more energy.
1. Drink a pint glass of water first thing in the morning. If you don’t like water on its own, squeeze some fresh lime into it.
2. Have a good breakfast. A good bowl of muesli won’t do you harm and neither will some porridge. Both are much better than a fry up.
3. Start off with at least 10 minutes of exercise. Stretch all your body’s larger muscles. Consider doing a brisk walk around the block each morning too.
4. Take in the sun light. I wake up when I see sun. Its energy, invigorating and excitement is absolutely amazing. Get up and spend a minute outside looking up in the sky taking in the morning light. Wrap up warm if it’s cold, but make sure you do it.
5. Fresh juice. I make myself a great carrot, apple and ginger juice daily. There is power in eating or drinking fruit before a meal and drinking a large glass of fresh juice is the best way to get started each day.
Have a Great Day!
Mid Week
Hi and welcome to Analyzing Medifast Diet, I hope you find something of interest to you here.
Started the day off with a bowl of peach flavored oatmeal and a large mug of green tea. After breakfast I had a little time to check my emails before it was time to head off to work. The bank was fairly busy today, but tomorrow is payday so I will have to prepare myself mentally for the long lines. For my mid morning meal I had a chocolate shake. The morning went by fairly quickly and before I knew it, lunchbreak was upon us.
For lunch today I sit with one of my Medifast buddies, the other one was out sick. We just sat and chatted about nothing in particular, I had a bowl of chicken noodle soup with some multi-grain crackers while my friend had a french vanilla shake.
The rest of the day went by fairly quickly, it was steady which made the day go by nicely. On the way home I had a caramel nut granola bar. When I arrived home I changed to my jogging clothes and went out for my hour, half walk half jog. Grabbed a quick shower and sat down at the computer to make a blog post and to find a interesting site to share with you all today. Here is what I found: Transportation
For my lean and green meal today I decided to take the easy route and have a grilled chicken salad. I seasoned a skinless, boneless chicken breast with some garlic salt and onion powder and pepper then wrapped it in foil and baked it in the oven. Chopped it up when it was done and put it on a bed of salad greens. 2Tbs of lowfat ranch and I had one of my staple lean and green meals.
The rest of the evening was spent between watching some TV and reading a book. Thanks for reading my Medifast Blog, I appreciate the visit. Take care until we meet again.
