Doing Great
For not being on the Medifast Diet any longer, I am holding up well. Having the menu plan made a big difference, I mean come on when you make a menu for a week and shop accordingly, no thought is involved. Once I get the hang of this healthy lifestyle, I am sure things will get easier. I no longer have the Medifast plan to rely on anymore, so I will just have to be strong and stay diligent with the menu planning on a weekly basis.
The spring and summer months are upon us, and it’s a great time to enjoy the outdoors. One thing I want to bring attention to is the subject of hydration. All to often we fail to take in enough fluids, mainly water. I mean lets face it, our bodies are made up of 75% water, and it is important that we maintain the 75%. I have friends that hardly ever drink water and we often hear about the recommended 8 glasses a day.
Have you ever experienced the negative effects of a car running low on oil? It can turn into a major problem that can cost thousands of dollars to repair. Now just think about the body low on it’s fluids that keep everything running smoothly. It’s the same concept, and many negative side effects can start due to dehydration. Some things that happen due to dehydration are:
* We become groggy, slow, and feel out of it. Our brains just don’t seem to function well.
* Our kidneys won’t be able to function causing toxins to back up in your body, making you feel generally fatigued and out of it.
* We will get constipated, nuff said
* Our skin will get dry and itchy
Things that we can do to keep our bodies hydrated properly.
For us non-athletic purposes drinking water will do the trick. But for the athletic types who enjoy sports drinks, and hear comes the shameless plug, I’d recommend the hydrate drink Gatorade. But that’s just my opinion. There are many good sports drinks on the market. But stay away from the energy drinks!
Drinking fluids that will replenish Our bodies needs and will keep us in good standing and ready to enjoy our day. Drink up and keep those fluid levels where they should be. Not to mention drinking fluids will suppress hunger.
